Job Responsibilities:
As a Permanent Attorney, your key responsibilities will encompass:
- Representing clients in court or before governmental bodies, presenting evidence to advocate for clients or prosecute defendants in civil or criminal matters.
- Selecting jurors, arguing motions, conferring with judges, and examining witnesses throughout the trial process.
- Reviewing constitutions, statutes, judicial decisions, and regulations to assess implications for cases.
- Interpreting laws, rulings, and regulations for individuals and organizations.
- Conducting legal research and compiling evidence.
- Ensuring the proper drafting and execution of legal documents.
- Negotiating settlements in civil disputes.
- Overseeing legal assistants and junior attorneys, providing mentorship and training as necessary.
- Maintaining professional competence through continuing education and professional development, staying informed on current legislation and changes in the legal landscape.
To qualify for this position, candidates must possess:
- A Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law institution.
- A valid license to practice law.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience as a practicing attorney, ideally in the defense sector.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication abilities, capable of engaging effectively with clients, judges, and opposing counsel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the aptitude to think strategically and formulate sound legal arguments.
- Excellent research skills, with a comprehensive understanding of legal principles and procedures.
- High ethical standards and professional integrity.
- The capacity to manage a substantial caseload and perform under pressure.
- Proficiency in legal research software and other relevant technological applications.
