Job Title: Senior GIS Analyst

My Next Career Path Staffing is seeking a highly skilled Senior GIS Analyst to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for designing and developing GIS applications, analyzing complex spatial data, and providing technical expertise to support business decisions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze and implement GIS technologies to support various functional needs and initiatives
  • Meet with customers to understand business information needs and develop solutions
  • Plan and sequence processing steps for creating database applications and displays
  • Utilize GIS software and techniques to perform specialized spatial analysis and create visual representations of data
  • Prepare technical documentation, reports, and summaries using GIS applications
  • Serve as department liaison for GIS-related issues and provide training and support to staff and users
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in GIS/Geography, Planning, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
  • Three years of professional experience in developing and implementing automated GIS systems
  • Valid Nevada or border state driver's license
  • Pass nationwide fingerprint-based record check and wants/warrants check
  • Complete Security Awareness and NCIC/NCJIS certification within six months of hire
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Thorough knowledge of GIS applications, mapping, and data entry procedures
  • Good knowledge of departmental principles and practices, local, state, and federal laws, and supervisory principles
  • Ability to communicate effectively, plan work assignments, and work independently
  • Skill in using computers, plotters, equipment, and software used in GIS work
