Job Summary

My Next Career Path Staffing is seeking a highly skilled Senior GIS Analyst to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for designing and developing GIS applications, analyzing complex spatial data, and providing technical expertise to support business initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze and implement GIS technologies to support various functional needs and initiatives
  • Meet with customers to understand and document business information needs
  • Plan and sequence processing steps for creating database applications and displays
  • Utilize GIS software and techniques to perform specialized spatial analysis
  • Prepare technical documentation, reports, and summaries using GIS applications
  • Serve as department liaison/point of contact for GIS related issues
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in GIS/Geography, Planning, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
  • Three years of professional level experience in developing and implementing automated GIS geographic information systems
  • Valid Nevada or 'border state' driver's license
  • Pass a nationwide fingerprint-based record check and wants/warrants check
  • Complete Security Awareness and NCIC/NCJIS certification within six months of hire/transfer
Preferred Qualifications
  • Thorough knowledge of GIS applications and mapping terminology, symbols, methods, and techniques
  • Good knowledge of departmental principles and practices, as well as applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively orally and in writing
  • Skill in the use of computers, plotters, equipment, and software used in GIS work
