Key Responsibilities:

  • As an accomplished NPI engineer, you will be dynamic, organized, and detail-oriented, excelling in project management while effectively communicating across all organizational levels.

  • Plan and execute multiple New Product Introduction (NPI) initiatives, establishing standards for Design for Manufacturing and defining manufacturing process requirements for new business contracts.
  • Lead the early definition and communication of Operations' requirements throughout the NPI cycle.
  • Provide insightful recommendations to management and engineering teams regarding manufacturing capabilities, production timelines, and process enhancements to optimize production workflows.
  • Oversee the stabilization of NPI transitions by evaluating in-process quality data and implementing corrective actions to enhance product manufacturability and mitigate risks.
  • Design, manufacture, and install customized fixtures for production and material handling.
  • Prioritize projects, establishing timelines and cost estimates for review and approval.
  • Analyze workforce utilization, space requirements, and workflow to design equipment layouts that maximize efficiency.
  • Coordinate the design of electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, and pneumatic schematics for appropriate equipment.
  • Collaborate with planning and design teams to ensure efficient production methods align with product design and tooling.
  • Prepare detailed drawings and parts requirements, determining the most cost-effective production methods.
  • Champion continuous improvement principles of Lean Manufacturing across the organization to reduce costs and enhance productivity.
  • Attendance on-site is essential for the successful execution of this role.

Education and Desired Skills:

  • Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or a related field, with 1-5 years of experience, or a minimum of five years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with electronic components, including part numbers and values.
  • Ability to research components and related information independently.
  • Capability to create Bills of Materials (BOMs) with minimal assistance.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes from assembly to testing.
  • Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
