Job Purpose

The SPPC Supply Assistant Manager is tasked with ensuring the availability of parts for our dealer network and customers. This role is crucial for guaranteeing timely deliveries from North American suppliers, managing supplier relationships to reduce overdue orders, facilitating accurate shipping documentation, minimizing customer backorders, and maximizing service levels. The Assistant Manager will also implement and coordinate lead-time initiatives with suppliers to meet inventory goals and objectives, all while adhering to the Honda Philosophy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of supply associates to achieve departmental objectives.
  • Oversee the supply of service replacement parts sourced from local vendors.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to enhance on-time delivery and reduce backorders.
  • Ensure timely delivery of new model parts.
  • Optimize service levels for customers.
  • Work with Spec Control to mitigate impacts from new part setups and design changes.
  • Lead special projects as necessary.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in supply chain management.
  • Equivalent work experience is acceptable.
  • Supply chain affiliations (e.g., APICS) and/or a Master's degree are advantageous.
  • 5+ years of experience in supply chain and/or leadership roles.
  • Understanding of forecasting, delivery, and service levels.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience.
  • Experience in international business is beneficial.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, Access, business objects) is helpful.
