Department Overview:

The Globally Contested Logistics and Supply Chain department (N154) is part of the Operations in Contested Environment Division (N150). Our mission is to comprehensively tackle the logistics and supply chain challenges faced by our nation, particularly within the Department of Defense. We prepare for and sustain power projection while navigating deliberate threats to our logistics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize diverse analytical methods to address contested logistics challenges, including data mining, statistical modeling, predictive analytics, optimization, risk assessment, and data visualization.
  • Analyze military mission capabilities using the Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration, and Modeling (AFSIM) software to support government studies and warfighting analyses.
  • Employ structured problem-solving and operations research techniques to investigate high-priority issues in contested logistics.
  • Innovate new analytical techniques to understand the interplay between logistics and military operations.
  • Design, implement, and scope simulation-focused experiments to evaluate the impact of various factors on mission outcomes.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Less than 1 year of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree in Operations Research, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • U.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
  • A strong interest in leveraging software to solve complex real-world challenges.
  • Proficiency in programming languages (such as Python, C/C++, Java), experience with analytic tools (such as SAS, MATLAB, R), and database languages (such as SQL).
  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and communication skills.
  • This position requires a minimum of 50% hybrid on-site presence.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Engineering, Operations Research, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience in developing software applications, user interfaces, databases, and embedded software.
  • Prior experience working with the Department of Defense.
