Position Overview:

The Patient Service Representative plays a crucial role in managing various administrative, financial, and appointment-related functions, ensuring a seamless experience for patients visiting our facility.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Foster and nurture positive interactions with patients and their families by providing a warm welcome and addressing inquiries with empathy and efficiency.
  • Execute point-of-service tasks, including preparing for visits, collecting co-payments, tracking patient flow, and performing other assigned duties under guidance.
  • Organize patient appointments and diagnostic procedures in accordance with established protocols and resources.
  • Facilitate communication with third-party payers and manage co-payment collections.
  • Conduct routine office responsibilities such as faxing, copying, filing, managing correspondence, answering phone calls, and taking messages.
  • Oversee front desk supplies and notify relevant personnel regarding restocking requirements.
  • Ensure efficient office operations by prioritizing tasks based on workload, anticipating needs, and adhering to deadlines.
  • Maintain a clean and welcoming environment in the department, including workspaces and waiting areas.
  • Provide administrative assistance across various departments as needed.
  • Adhere to HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience in a general office setting, preferably in administrative or clerical roles.
  • Experience in healthcare environments is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with computerized scheduling systems is preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with patients, families, healthcare providers, and colleagues.
  • Excellent organizational skills to manage tasks effectively.
  • Basic mathematical skills for processing insurance co-payments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar applications, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.

Education and Experience:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • No specific certifications are required.
  • Prior experience in clerical or administrative roles is preferred.
  • No supervisory experience is necessary.

Work Environment:

This position requires an onsite presence.
