Position Overview:
This role is integral to maintaining the cleanliness and operational efficiency of school facilities. The individual will assist a Custodian Engineer in various housekeeping and maintenance tasks, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for students and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in performing maintenance tasks including general housekeeping, mechanical upkeep, and minor repairs.
- Support the operation and maintenance of steam boilers and related systems.
- Monitor and maintain the physical condition of the assigned building.
- Document maintenance activities and assist in recordkeeping.
- Engage in cleaning and maintaining floors, carpets, and other surfaces.
- Handle refuse collection and disposal efficiently.
- Perform basic grounds maintenance and assist with various repair tasks.
Qualifications:
Applicants should possess a high school diploma or equivalent, along with relevant experience in building maintenance or custodial work. A valid Third Class Stationary Engineer's license is required at the time of appointment. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to follow instructions, work collaboratively, and maintain effective communication with staff and students.
Work Environment:
This position requires physical stamina and the ability to perform various maintenance tasks. The role emphasizes teamwork and a commitment to providing a clean and safe educational environment for all.
