Position Overview

JW Meier Capital Group Inc is a dynamic and expanding company specializing in asphalt maintenance and paving. We are currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Financial Controller who possesses a solid understanding of GAAP and has experience in the commercial construction sector. Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable transactions, including AIA billing.
  • Establish and maintain vendor and subcontractor records, ensuring W9 and Certificate of Insurance documentation is current; prepare year-end 1099 forms.
  • Assist in preparation for annual insurance audits related to Workers' Compensation and General Liability.
  • Conduct Purchase Order reconciliations for inventory management.
  • Manage the Chart of Accounts, job cost categories, and job expense allocations.
  • Coordinate the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including Balance Sheets, Cash Flow Statements, and Income Statements.
  • Support the Office Manager in various project developments and executions as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting roles, with at least 2 years in construction accounting being advantageous.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Professional demeanor in maintaining relationships with clients and vendors.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and technical skills.
  • Experience with ProContractor by Viewpoint software is a plus.
