Job Summary:

We are seeking an Electronics Engineer to provide technical support to the Navy's Fleet Submarine Very Low and Low-Frequency Broadcast Engineering Support team.

This position will be located in Charleston, SC and will be an onsite position.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides installation, technical expertise, and training for all telecommunications equipment and components.
  • Installs, configures, terminates, and tests all telecommunications equipment, cables, connectors, and interfaces.
  • Performs intricate alignment and calibration procedures to ensure FVLF/LF radio transmitter systems are operating efficiently.
  • Resolve system operational problems by troubleshooting and performing fault isolation.
  • Diagnose equipment malfunctions and perform maintenance and repairs based upon manufacturer specifications and recommendations.
  • Responsible for engineering and/or installation activities within the telecommunications function including engineering, implementation, diagnostics, and operations/user support.
  • Monitors the operation of Radio Frequency (RF) network systems and transition mediums.
  • Performs complex tasks relating to telecommunication network operations, installation, and/or maintenance for local, off-site, and/or remote locations.
  • Gather technical requirements, conduct surveys and engage with clients, constructions crews, utility personnel, and various government departments.
  • Test, troubleshoot and repair circuit boards/cards if required.
  • Proficiently handle wiring and cabling installation and termination tasks.
  • Serves as a technical specialist for the resolution of complex RF Transmitter network problems.

Qualifications:

  • BS degree in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics or Physics with 0-2 years experience
  • Secret Clearance Required
  • One (1) year of practical experience to include: Electrical engineering support to C4ISR systems
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience, including design, preparation and modification of engineering documents, and drawings
  • Understanding and/or experience desired in Allen Bradley Control Systems architecture, High Voltage RF, Corona Treatments, RF Tuning Networks
  • Ability to interpret and implement electronic, electrical, mechanical, and installation schematics and drawings
  • Proficiency in using miscellaneous test equipment such as oscilloscopes and signal generators
  • Understanding of electrical and electronic theory
  • Experience in circuit modelling, design, and repair
  • Knowledge of NAVELEX 0101,110 (series) criteria and its practical applications
  • Methodical engineering approach with exceptional attention to detail
  • Understanding and/or experience with PLC programming
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • Electronics repair, maintenance and checkout
  • Formal electronics training, to include: Installation Tasks, Soldering, Cable Dressing, Cable Tray, Conduit, and Making/Repairing Connectors
  • Ability to navigate and resolve ambiguity effectively
  • Mathematical aptitude
