Job Summary

The Buffalo Hearing & Speech Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Classroom Assistant to join our team at our Fredonia location. As a key member of our preschool special education team, you will play a vital role in creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment for our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the classroom teacher in planning and implementing developmentally appropriate lessons and activities
  • Support the individual needs of our students, including those with developmental delays or disabilities
  • Maintain a safe, healthy, and organized classroom environment
  • Follow established policies and procedures for bus duty, breakfast/lunch distribution, and behavior management
  • Collaborate with the classroom team to design and implement engaging and effective lesson plans
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Experience working with children, preferably in a classroom setting or with individuals with developmental delays/disabilities
  • Ability to obtain and maintain CPI Certification
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and as part of a team
Physical Demands

The Classroom Assistant will be required to perform physical actions such as lifting, bending, kneeling, standing, squatting, reaching, sprinting, crawling, and running. Additionally, the individual must have adequate vision, speech, tactile, and hearing senses to perform the job requirements.
