Job Title: Part-Time Behavior Specialist

Access Services is seeking a part-time Behavior Specialist to join our team. As a Behavior Specialist, you will work with our intellectual disability and autism (ID/A) programs to provide behavioral support and interventions.

Job Summary:

The Behavior Specialist will work with both programs and individual teams to complete assessments, develop and update behavior support plans, and crisis intervention plans. You will also train direct support staff and caregivers to ensure that behavior supports are provided to participants using positive practices and the least restrictive interventions.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of behavior for participants, identifying antecedents, potential functions of behavior, and possible environmental factors.
  • Develop and implement individualized, comprehensive behavioral support plans consistent with the outcomes identified in the participants' service plans.
  • Collaborate with participants, their family, and service team to develop behavior support plans that include positive practices and least restrictive interventions.
  • Implement activities and strategies identified in the participant's behavior support plan, including providing direct behavioral support, education, and coaching.
  • Travel between our Fort Washington and Bethlehem offices to attend on-site meetings and work on-site at our several program locations.
Requirements:
  • Master's Degree or higher in Psychology, Special Education, Counseling, Social Work, Education, Applied Behavior Analysis, or Gerontology.
  • Two (2) years of experience working with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities and/or autism diagnosis.
  • Experience as a behavior specialist is required.
  • ODP FBA training/certification and Positive Behavior Supports training are required.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) abilities are a plus.
