Job Title: Behavioral Interventionist

FosterAdopt Connect is seeking a skilled Behavioral Interventionist to join our team. As a Behavioral Interventionist, you will work one-on-one with youth who struggle with behavioral management to ensure their stability and well-being.

Job Summary:

The Behavioral Interventionist will provide direct services to clients in their homes and communities, working with families to develop and implement individualized behavioral plans. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide one-on-one services to clients, following agency requirements and policies.
  • Maintain strong communication with caregivers to ensure service efficacy and approval of agenda and activities.
  • Provide direct supervision to clients at all times.
  • Assist clients with daily responsibilities, activities, and living skills.
  • Provide direction, coaching, and approved intervention strategies.
  • Actively engage with clients using approved Bruce Perry trauma-informed brain stimulating activities.
  • Adhere to individualized behavioral objective plans to help youth achieve treatment goals.
  • Model positive behavior and effective problem-solving techniques.
  • Complete shift documentation the same day of a shift worked.
  • Maintain strong communication with direct supervisor regarding services delivered, concerns, or questions.
  • Participate in staff meetings and professional development trainings.
  • Meet with client's professional team and attend court hearings as requested.
  • Participate in monthly supportive supervision with direct supervisor.
  • Maintain First Aid/CPR Certification.
Qualifications:
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • High school diploma required; bachelor's degree preferred.
  • At least one year of experience working with youth with elevated behavioral needs preferred.
  • Must be willing and able to perform safety holds on clients who are at immediate risk for harming themselves or others.
  • Must be able to navigate stairs, climb, twist, bend, and lift up to 100 pounds.
  • Must have a smart phone and laptop/computer for work purposes.
  • Valid driver's license, car insurance, and reliable transportation.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Model ethical and professional behavior at all times.
  • Solid commitment to the principles of support and advocacy for foster and adoptive families.
  • Ability to collaborate and advocate for positive outcomes.
