Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage referral requests from diverse healthcare professionals.
- Facilitate patient referrals, ensuring all pertinent information is precise and complete.
- Monitor referral progress and address any delays proactively.
- Engage with patients to provide referral information and respond to their questions.
- Confirm insurance coverage and secure authorizations for necessary services.
- Collaborate with insurance providers to address authorization challenges.
- Serve as a bridge between patients, healthcare providers, and insurers to ensure effective communication.
- Maintain comprehensive records of referral activities and patient communications.
- Produce reports to identify patterns and enhance operational processes.
Qualifications:
- Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required; a degree in a healthcare-related field is preferred.
- Previous experience in healthcare environments, particularly in referral coordination, is essential.
- Knowledge of EHR systems is beneficial, with experience in EPIC being an advantage.
