Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Control System Engineer to join our team in Deer Park, TX. As a key member of our Controls Systems team, you will be responsible for ensuring operational readiness of our sites, managing controls production environments, and implementing logic changes to minimize plant trips and improve plant reliability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work collaboratively with the Controls Systems team to ensure operational readiness of our sites.
  • Proactively manage controls production environments and take preventative actions to avoid business-impacting incidents.
  • Implement logic changes to minimize plant trips and improve plant reliability, establishing a management of change process to ensure logic changes are controlled and risk-assessed.
  • Coach operations and technical personnel on control strategies and process control algorithm development, prototyping, and implementation.
  • Develop and maintain Basic Process Control and Process Optimization, and establish and manage goals, reporting needs, key performance indicators, and dashboards for control system and health.
  • Provide remote support for 20+ sites and lead the prompt resolution of control system performance issues through critical thinking skills.
  • Work with automation vendors to specify, design, and commission new and upgraded control and SIS systems, driving continuous improvement in control system infrastructure.
  • Develop business-level solutions for process historians to eliminate data silos and organize data flows, and oversee reliability and maintenance of DCS/SIS hardware and software.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Chemical, Automation, or Instrumentation preferred).
  • 5-7 years of controls experience preferred.
  • Primary skill sets desired: FactoryTalk, Rockwell/Allen Bradley PLC's, networking, and Wonderware.
  • Preferred skills: Canary Historian, DeltaV, ABB/Siemens, AMS, OSIsoft PI, Aspen, SCADA, SIS, Instrumentation specification.
  • Ability to learn quickly and stay up-to-date with current technology.
  • Metrics-based on IBP.
  • Effective communication with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, climb (Survey facility).
  • Up to 20% travel.
