Job Summary:
Soliant is seeking a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to join our team in a full-time capacity. This position will involve working one-on-one with an elementary student in a supportive and collaborative educational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality sign language interpretation services to support the student's academic and social needs
- Develop and maintain effective communication with the student, teachers, and other school staff
- Collaborate with the educational team to ensure the student's individualized education plan (IEP) is implemented
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance interpretation skills and stay up-to-date on best practices
Requirements:
- ISBE Approval as a Sign Language Interpreter
- Minimum 1+ years of experience as a sign language interpreter, preferably in a school setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
