Project Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Cloud Security Specialist to deliver expertise in the ongoing oversight of FedRAMP authorized cloud environments. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in information security and will collaborate closely with cross-functional subject matter experts (SMEs) to provide strategic guidance, support, and recommendations aimed at enhancing the continuous monitoring process, particularly in alignment with FedRAMP, FISMA, Privacy Act, and OMB mandates. The selected professional will have a proven track record in evaluating FedRAMP continuous monitoring submissions and advising on the implementation of secure cloud controls. This role requires an individual who excels in a collaborative environment while also contributing independently to the development of information security deliverables.

Key Qualifications:
The candidate must demonstrate the following knowledge and skills:

  1. A Bachelor's degree or higher in information security or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  2. Possession of at least one advanced cybersecurity certification, such as CISSP, CCSP, CRISC, or other relevant credentials; multiple certifications are preferred.
  3. A minimum of seven (7) years of experience in information security, with a focus on cloud security and continuous monitoring practices.
  4. Extensive familiarity with NIST standards, including NIST SP revisions.
  5. Experience in implementing systems compliant with FedRAMP, FISMA, and SOX regulations.
  6. Proven ability to build consensus and work collaboratively across diverse stakeholder groups.
  7. Strong project execution and management skills.
  8. Experience with FedRAMP reporting requirements, including risk assessments and remediation strategies.
  9. U.S. citizenship is mandatory.
Preferred Skills:
Additional knowledge and experience that would be advantageous:
  1. Familiarity with government compliance frameworks, including OMB, FISMA, FedRAMP, RMF, and CSF.
  2. Experience with cloud technologies, architectures, and services, particularly in a FedRAMP context.
  3. Advanced understanding of project management methodologies and information security compliance.
  4. Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations governing information security.
  5. Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to adapt to shifting priorities.
  6. Strong interpersonal skills and organizational agility, capable of engaging effectively with all levels of management.
  7. Detail-oriented with a commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
Responsibilities:
The Contractor will be responsible for the following tasks:
  1. Evaluate the current continuous monitoring program and provide actionable recommendations for enhancement.
  2. Conduct thorough analyses of monthly FedRAMP continuous monitoring packages, including reviewing deviation requests and documenting summaries.
  3. Advise clients on compliance activities related to FISMA and FedRAMP, ensuring alignment with current legislation and standards.
  4. Perform security risk assessments for third-party applications and service providers.
  5. Ensure that organizational structure recommendations align with the overall strategic direction.
  6. Identify and plan for long-term financial implications associated with cloud migration.
  7. Review and provide guidance on the decommissioning of legacy applications and the management of historical data.
  8. Assess additional processes and procedures, offering recommendations for improvement.
  9. Provide ad-hoc support services as needed, including advisory consulting and facilitating strategic discussions.
