About the Role:

Department Overview

Our Medical Intermediate Care (IMC) unit features 20 private rooms, providing specialized care for a range of intermediate medical patients. This includes:

Patients needing closer monitoring than every 4 hours.Patients requiring advanced respiratory support, including BiPap, HiFlo Oxygen, Vapotherm, and those on chronic ventilator support.Endocrine emergencies necessitating increased observation.Gastroenterology patients needing frequent monitoring.Management of alcohol withdrawal with CIWA scoring.

Minimum Job Qualifications

  • Licensure: Must be licensed to practice as an RN in Georgia.
  • Education: Associate Nursing Degree is required.
  • Experience: A minimum of one (1) year as a professional RN is preferred. New graduates or those with less than one (1) year of experience will be considered for the RN Residency Program.

Preferred Job Qualifications

  • Licensure: National certification in a clinical specialty is preferred.
  • Education: Bachelor of Nursing Degree is preferred.
  • Experience: One (1) year experience in Long Term Care is preferred.
  • Other: Membership in a professional organization is desirable.

Essential Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Clinical Skills: Demonstrate assessment skills and the five rights of medication administration. Manage care for patients with increasing complexity, ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with standards.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Involve patients and families in care, providing tailored education and demonstrating customer service excellence.
  • Critical Thinking: Plan care based on assessments, manage time effectively, and adjust care plans as needed while maintaining professionalism.
  • Leadership: Support unit goals, engage in professional development, and oversee tasks assigned to support staff. Serve in leadership roles as necessary.

Physical Demands

  • Weight Lifted: Up to 100 lbs, occasionally.
  • Weight Carried: Up to 50 lbs, occasionally.
  • Vision: Moderate, frequently required.
  • Kneeling/Stooping/Bending: Frequently required.
  • Standing/Walking: Frequently required.
  • Pushing/Pulling: Frequently required.
  • Job Requires: Reading, Writing, Reasoning, Talking, Keyboarding.
