Job Summary:
The Baptist Health Care organization is seeking a highly skilled Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our team. As a key member of our Behavioral Health Unit, you will provide psychiatric evaluations, management of patients, and in-house after-hours psychiatric services to patients hospitalized in Baptist Behavioral Medicine Center.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations, including Baker Act necessity, and management of patients in the Behavioral Health Unit and Baptist Hospital.
- Provide in-house, after-hours psychiatric services to patients hospitalized in Baptist Behavioral Medicine Center.
- Work closely with physicians and other clinicians in a team approach to patient care.
- Practice in collaboration with on-call psychiatrists as well as under the supervision of the Medical Director.
- Assess patient status by obtaining health history through interviews and chart reviews.
- Develop and implement treatment plans, including prescribing/dispensing medications and/or injections in compliance with medical practice guidelines and state laws.
- Participate in peer reviews, chart reviews, staff education, clinical guideline development, and other continuing education and quality assurance activities.
Requirements:
- Master's Degree in Nursing required.
- BLS for Healthcare Providers (BLS) American Heart Association certification required.
- Adult Psychiatric-Mental Health NP (APMH_ANCC) certification required.
