About the Role:

Denver Public Schools is seeking a highly skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our team of dedicated professionals. As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will play a critical role in assessing and treating students with language, pragmatics, articulation, functional communication, voice, and fluency disorders that impact educational learning.

Key Responsibilities:

• Utilize current assessment instruments to determine a student's skills and abilities in the areas of language, pragmatics, articulation, functional communication, voice, and fluency;
• Provide intervention that is appropriate to the age and learning needs of each individual student;
• Gather and organize information to write educationally-based Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and ensure educational relevance when assessing and providing services;
• Follow compliance laws for meeting federal and state mandates as well as local policies in the performance of duties such as Individualized Education Program (IEP) development, Medicaid billing, report writing, and treatment plan/therapy log development;
• Communicate evaluation results at evaluation meetings and interpret assessments;

Requirements:

• Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology;
• Current Colorado Department of Education Special Service Provider License - Speech Language Pathologist;
• 2+ years of experience with speech language and communication assessments used for students eligible for special education;
• School experience preferred but not required;
• Augmentative and Assistive Technology experience preferred but not required;
