Position Summary & ResponsibilitiesThe Kansas Department for Children and Families is seeking innovative and dedicated professionals to join our team. As a Child Protection Specialist, you will provide protective and preventive services to at-risk families, investigating allegations of abuse and neglect, and developing safety plans to ensure the well-being of children.
As a Child Protective Investigator, you will be part of the Joint Investigative Team, conducting thorough investigations and developing investigative plans to address child abuse and neglect cases.
QualificationsTo be considered for this role, you must meet the following minimum qualifications:
- Child Protection Specialist: Four-year degree in a Human Services or Behavioral Sciences field, or equivalent education determined relevant by the agency
- Child Protective Investigator: Two years of investigation, fact-finding, or enforcing state or federal laws and regulations, or equivalent experience as determined relevant by the agency
Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Criminal Justice, or a related field, and relevant work experience in Children and Family Services.
Post-Offer, Pre-employment RequirementsAs a condition of employment, you must undergo a background check, including fingerprinting and an FBI check, and maintain security clearance throughout your employment with the Department for Children and Families.
