Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Carpenter/Form Setter to join our team at Granite Construction. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for constructing, erecting, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures of wood structures, using hand tools and power tools, and conforming to industry standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Select and prepare materials, including lumber and other materials, for construction projects
  • Mark cutting and assembly lines on materials, using precision tools and techniques
  • Assemble and fasten materials together with nails, dowel pins, or glue, ensuring accurate and precise construction
  • Construct forms and chutes for pouring concrete, and erect scaffolding and ladders for assembling structures above ground level
Requirements
  • Minimum of 1 year of construction experience, with heavy construction experience preferred
  • Dam or other heavy structure experience highly preferred
  • Ability to work within precise limits or standards of accuracy, and apply shop mathematics to solve problems
  • Physical ability to climb and maintain balance on scaffolds and ladders, reach for, handle, and manipulate objects and materials, and lift and carry objects weighing up to 100 pounds
