Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Nutritionist I to join our team at the State of Delaware. As a key member of our department, you will play a vital role in promoting health and well-being among Delaware citizens.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess nutrition risks and needs, and determine eligibility for the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC).
  • Conduct initial and re-certification assessments, provide nutrition education, and assess biochemical parameters to determine risk level.
  • Consult with physicians and healthcare professionals to assess and determine nutritional needs and dietary restrictions.
  • Promote healthy lifestyles, healthy eating, breastfeeding, and other health-related messages to the WIC population.
  • Coordinate with breastfeeding peer counselors to promote optimal health and nutrition for newborns.
Requirements
  • Possession of a Bachelor's degree or higher in Food and Nutrition from a US regionally accredited college or university and coursework approved by the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education (CADE) of the American Dietetic Association (ADA).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality services.
