Nephrology Position Highlights:

We are seeking a board-certified or eligible nephrologist to join our group of five experienced physicians at NorthShore University HealthSystem.

A Comprehensive Overview:

This position offers a partnership track with no buy-in required and provides an opportunity for career advancement. The ideal candidate will cover one hospital and have a busy office practice, with call duties limited to one in five weekends. They will also alternate weeks covering acute hospital consults.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality medical patient care by interviewing, examining, and treating clinical patients to meet their complex medical needs
  • Educate patients on wellness, prevention, and early detection by providing educational materials and resources
  • Collaborate with other physicians to ensure seamless healthcare services for patients
  • Determine necessary referrals based on patient examination and needs
  • Assess follow-up and referral/consultation appointments
  • Exercise final medical judgment in all healthcare matters
  • Prescribe medical treatment and clinical drugs to patients as needed
  • Order studies, tests, and ancillary services
  • Maintain accurate records of patient services in medical records
  • Regularly review long-term cases requiring ongoing medical attention
  • Consult with Medical Director and other professionals as needed regarding patient care, assessment, and education issues
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, continuing education, and other patient care programs
  • Oversee mid-level medical staff and nursing clinical staff as assigned
  • Address patient complaints, requests, and inquiries in a professional manner
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information according to federal guidelines and regulations
  • Contribute to teaching sessions for hospital and medical staff, residents, and/or medical students as assigned

Requirements:

  • Board Certification in Nephrology or Eligibility
  • Current DEA license and other required licenses related to specialty

Estimated Salary Range:$270,000 - $325,000 per year
