Psychiatric Social Health Technician

Job Summary:The Psychiatric Social Health Technician will assist licensed staff in the delivery of direct patient care, including performing vital signs, monitoring patients, and maintaining a safe patient care unit. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform and monitor vital signs in the EMR system
- Observe and report on patients' physical and emotional state
- Attend interdisciplinary conferences to report observations and interactions
- Contribute to the maintenance of a therapeutic milieu through group activities and patient engagement
- Assist patients with daily living activities and prepare them for examinations
- Monitor patients closely, observing and reporting on changes in condition
- Assist with the application of restraints and monitoring of patients in restraints/seclusion
- Maintain a safe patient care unit through monitoring visitors, patient rounds, and environmental checks
- Collect and transport specimens to the lab
- Escort patients for medical procedures, diagnostic testing, and appointments
- Perform CPR and assist with basic first aid
- Maintain cleanliness and check equipment and supplies for patient care
- 6 months of experience assisting patients with daily living and therapeutic activities
- Valid and current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association
