Job Summary

C Tran Express is seeking experienced Class A CDL truck drivers to join our team. As a Class A CDL driver, you will be responsible for safely transporting goods across the Northeast region in a box truck or tractor trailer.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver customer orders safely and efficiently, ensuring timely arrival and accurate delivery of goods.
  • Load and unload inventory from trucks, using powered and non-powered material handling equipment as needed.
  • Review order manifests to ensure accuracy and completeness of daily routes.
  • Perform pre- and post-trip inspections to ensure compliance with Department of Transportation regulations and company policies.
  • Maintain routine contact with the distribution center to receive updates on delivery interruptions and missing orders.
  • Prepare and maintain vehicle and customer order records, adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Provide updates to customers on delivery statuses and address any escalated customer service or sales-related issues.
Requirements
  • Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record.
  • 5 years of experience in Class A CDL driving, with at least 6 months of recent verifiable tractor-trailer experience.
  • No DUIs or reckless driving convictions in the past 5 years.
  • Pass a DOT physical examination, including a drug screen.
  • No more than 3 moving violations in the past 3 years.
  • Pass a background check.
  • No careless or reckless driving convictions in the past 24 months.
  • No rear-end, rollover, lost control, or jackknife incidents in the past 5 years.
  • No more than 2 chargeable accidents in the past 3 years.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience delivering merchandise to customers using a box truck or similar vehicle.
  • 5+ years of experience operating material handling equipment.
  • No accidents or moving violations in the past 3 years.
  • Wholesale distribution experience.
Work Environment
  • Typically located in a comfortable environment with regular exposure to factors that may cause noticeable discomfort or a moderate risk of accident or illness.
  • Requires intermittent periods of continuous physical exertion, such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting, and maneuvering material or equipment that may be heavy (50+ pounds) or awkward.
  • Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Education and Experience
  • HS Diploma or GED strongly preferred. Specialized skills training/certification may be required.
  • Generally, 2-5 years of experience in responsibility.
