Meat Department Lead

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Meat Department Lead to join our team at Kroger. As a Meat Department Lead, you will be responsible for creating an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service, establishing and maintaining a safe and clean environment, and achieving sales and profit goals established for the department.
Key Responsibilities- Provide exceptional customer service and create a welcoming environment for customers
- Establish and maintain a safe and clean environment in the Meat department
- Monitor and control all functions, duties, and activities related to the Meat department
- Develop and implement a department business plan to achieve desired results
- Train and develop associates on their job performance and participate in the performance appraisal process
- Review and inspect products for quality and freshness and take appropriate action
- Develop and implement sales promotions in partnership with store management
- Inform and educate department associates about current, upcoming, and special in-store promotions
- Prepare and submit seasonal critiques for the sales and merchandising supervisor
- Implement the period promotional plan for the department
- Assist management in preparing the store/department budget, expense control, profit, and loss reviews
- Schedule daily, weekly, and monthly price changes by updating shelf tags and promotional signs
- Plan and organize the inventory process, maintain an awareness of inventory/stocking conditions, and note any discrepancies
- Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers are maintained and temperature logs are maintained
- Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures, identifying unsafe conditions, and practicing preventive maintenance
- Report all safety risks, issues, and illegal activity, including robbery, theft, or fraud
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Current food handlers permit once employed
- Ability to handle stressful situations
- Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, subtraction)
