Key Responsibilities:


The Physical Therapist Assistant will deliver medically prescribed physical therapy under the guidance of a Physical Therapist (PT) for pediatric patients in a home health setting.

They will instruct the patient and their caregiver according to the treatment plan developed in collaboration with a Physical Therapist to restore, reinforce, and enhance performance.

Essential Duties:

- Provide clinical treatment to patients as directed by the supervising PT.

- Consult with the supervisor regarding patient progress and maintain accurate records.

- Coordinate patient care with office personnel and other healthcare professionals.

- Maintain effective communication with the PT supervisor concerning progress, challenges, home programs, and other therapeutic matters.

- Ensure timely and complete documentation.

- Manage an appropriate caseload while meeting productivity standards.

- Participate in Continuing Education to expand service capabilities.

- Oversee the maintenance of supplies and equipment.

- Engage in proactive teamwork to achieve organizational and departmental objectives.

- Serve as a backup service provider for other caseloads as necessary.

- Adhere to all company policies, practices, and procedures.

- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements:

- Associate's degree as a Certified Physical Therapy Assistant.

- Current state-issued professional licensure.

- Valid state driver’s license.

- CPR certification.

- Pediatric clinical experience is preferred.

- Home health experience is advantageous.

Other Qualifications and Skills:

- Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally in small group settings.

- Strong critical thinking and analytical skills.

- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities.

- Capability to interpret instructions and solve practical problems with various concrete variables.

- Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite, record-keeping, and routine database management.

- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Physical Demands/Working Environment:

- The role involves significant time spent standing, walking, reaching, sitting, kneeling, and crawling.

- Over two-thirds of the time will be spent using hands and fingers for various tasks.

- The working environment includes diverse indoor residential or childcare settings.

- Moderate physical activity is required, including lifting a minimum of twenty-five pounds.

- Specific vision abilities required for this role include close vision.

- Moderate noise levels typical of a business office with computers, phones, and printers.
