Position Overview
This role is designated for an IT SPECIALIST (SYSADMIN/CUSTSPT) within the Army National Guard Units. This position is essential for maintaining operational efficiency and ensuring the smooth functioning of IT systems.

Key Responsibilities
1.

Utilizes comprehensive knowledge of logistics operations and automated systems to oversee projects related to CSS automation integration.

Manages local area network (LAN) clients, ensuring that tactical network systems operate effectively and meet required standards.

Identifies and resolves intricate network issues within the designated area of responsibility. Responds promptly to user requests for assistance, ensuring that trouble reports are addressed efficiently.

Troubleshoots hardware, software, and operating system issues, ensuring timely application of software and security updates.

Coordinates with the Department of the Army and National Guard Bureau regarding operations and support for automated systems.

Provides technical guidance for automated logistics information systems to users and supervisors.

Maintains current Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and manages trouble ticket priorities.

Diagnoses and resolves technical issues reported in trouble tickets and performs initial setups for logistics information system computers.

Acts as the primary contact for Functional Administrators and users of the serviced databases.

Oversees daily operations and maintenance of the databases, ensuring efficient data collection and processing.

Initiates corrective actions to restore database functionality as needed.

Guides users in submitting problem reports and change proposals related to automated systems.

Consolidates and manages system problem reports and engineer change proposals for distribution.

Analyzes requirements and coordinates hardware management for automated logistics information systems.

Installs and evaluates hardware, ensuring accountability for equipment exchanges.

Performs maintenance on logistics information system hardware and troubleshoots related issues.

4.

Serves as the contact for the Sustainment Automation Support Management Office (SASMO) Work Order Desk.

Provides assistance to users via a help desk, resolving issues or referring them to specialists as necessary.

Maintains an automated database of customer requests and provides reports on unusual problems.

Administers warranty contracts related to system support and offers technical assistance on IT-related issues.

Ensures courteous and professional service when interacting with users.


Qualifications

Military Grades: E-5 to E-8

Applicants must demonstrate relevant experience in data processing functions and management principles. Experience in roles such as computer operator, program analyst, or similar positions is preferred.


General Experience:

Basic knowledge of data processing and automation processes is required.


Specialized Experience:

At least one year of experience at a lower grade or equivalent experience in analyzing system components is necessary.
