Position Overview:

Austin Retina Associates is in search of a dedicated and proactive individual for a full-time role as a Retinal Imaging Specialist. This position involves conducting advanced diagnostic evaluations for our esteemed Faculty, ensuring top-tier patient care and technical support.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct diagnostic assessments for physicians, including:
    • Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT)
    • Fundus Photography
    • Fluorescein Angiography
    • Indocyanine Green Angiography
    • A/B/UBM Scans (Ultrasound)
    • Visual Field Testing
  • Collaborate with clinical personnel to minimize wait times for both physicians and patients.
  • Document images and relevant notes in the electronic medical record system.
  • Perform venipunctures as necessary for angiograms and Photodynamic Therapy.
  • Provide technical insights in response to inquiries from physicians and colleagues regarding diagnostic images.
  • Assist with patient preparation for in-office procedures, including obtaining consent and setup.
  • Maintain certification for clinical trials and adhere to all office policies regarding equipment and medication management.
Required Skills and Abilities:
  • Exemplary interpersonal skills, including effective communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in multiple computer systems for data entry and retrieval.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to continuous learning in medical terminology, particularly in ophthalmology.
  • Ability to travel as needed within designated areas.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • A four-year degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Certification from recognized professional bodies such as the Ophthalmic Photographers Society.
  • Experience in retinal or ophthalmology settings, particularly with diagnostic imaging.
Position Details:

This role requires flexibility in working hours, including the possibility of extended or irregular shifts. Travel within designated areas will be necessary, utilizing company-provided transportation.

Physical Requirements:

The position involves prolonged periods of standing and walking, as well as occasional lifting of up to 40 pounds. Specific vision capabilities are necessary for viewing multiple screens and adjusting focus.
