We are currently seeking an experienced Precision Machinist for our client, a leading manufacturer in the aerospace fastener sector. This position offers a fantastic opportunity for individuals with a background in machine operations specifically within the aerospace field.

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, either 5:00 AM to 1:30 PM or 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM.

Position Summary:

The Precision Machinist will be tasked with setting up, operating, and managing a specific range of aerospace machinery and machining tools. The role involves operating equipment such as Waterbury Farrel, Nakishimada, and 1D2B heading machines, along with Grinders, Lathes, and Mills. Candidates must be adept at interpreting tooling requirements from shop work orders and utilizing standard measuring instruments with .0002" precision. Additionally, the ability to read and comprehend complex technical drawings, including hydraulic and pneumatic schematics, is essential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manufacture aerospace components in accordance with Work Order specifications—excluding commercial or automotive parts.
  • Execute jobs/work orders within the established setup and run rates for each task.
  • Prepare and operate machinery as directed by the Manager or lineup sheet, ensuring compliance with Job Card or drawing specifications.
  • Select or develop the necessary tools, set up the machinery, and confirm that features align with Job Card specifications, with verification by Lead Man, QA, or Manager.
  • Conduct regular inspections of parts, documenting measurements in accordance with the Company's Quality Manual.
  • Operate multiple machines while maintaining quality control standards.
  • Keep a tidy and organized workspace, including routine cleaning of machinery.
  • Perform basic preventive maintenance as outlined in the Preventive Maintenance Guide.
  • Adhere to all company safety protocols to maintain a secure working environment.
  • Carry out additional tasks as assigned or instructed.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Proficient in English, both written and verbal, to effectively perform job responsibilities.
  • Capable of regularly lifting and managing parts trays weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Skilled in completing necessary documentation to finalize work orders and instructions.
