Flight Paramedic

Job Summary:
The Flight Paramedic is a critical member of our team, responsible for providing advanced critical care to patients in diverse and non-traditional settings. This role requires exceptional critical thinking skills, the ability to work autonomously, and effective collaboration with other healthcare providers.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist and train medical crew members in continuing education and professional development.
* Make decisions regarding patient care and destination in conjunction with the Flight Nurse partner while in flight and during patient contact.
* Maintain training and skills commensurate with flight paramedic duties, equipment operation, and medical guidelines.
* Assist with quality assurance, including data collection and chart review for quality improvement.
Requirements:
* Currently certified Paramedic in the state of operations and maintain certification during employment.
* Minimum of three years of experience with a high-volume service (1600 hours/year minimum each year).
* Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Advanced Trauma Course (ATLS, TNCC, PHTLS, BTLS, TNATC, or ATCN).
* Weigh less than 215 pounds fully dressed at the time of hire and maintain that weight.
Physical Requirements:
* Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.
* Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately.
* Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy.
* Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients.
* Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment.
