Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Access Representative II to join our team at Conifer Revenue Cycle Solutions. As a key member of our patient access team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth registration and admission process for our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform scheduling, registration, and patient pre-admission and admission duties to support departmental efficiencies.
  • Obtain complete and accurate patient demographic information, ensuring compliance with financial and cash control policies and procedures.
  • Employ proper and compliant patient liability collection techniques before, during, and after date of service.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, greeting patients and families with a warm and welcoming demeanor.
  • Assist with scheduling diagnostic procedures, entering data in scheduling systems, and providing customers with appointment instructions.
  • Secure medical necessity checks and verification in accordance with Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services guidelines.
  • Verify insurance, benefits, coverage, and eligibility, and complete assigned registration financial clearance work lists activities.
  • Obtain insurance authorizations for scheduled and unscheduled hospital services, and secure inpatient visit notification to payors.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 0-1 year of experience in a customer service role, with 0-1 year of administrative experience in a medical facility, health insurance, or related area preferred.
  • Some college coursework is preferred.
  • Minimum typing skills of 35 wpm.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of PC/CRT/printer.
  • Knowledge of function and relationships within a hospital environment preferred.
  • Customer service skills and experience.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to receive and express detailed information through oral and written communications.
  • Course in Medical Terminology required.
  • Understanding of Third Party Payor requirements preferred.
  • Understanding of Compliance standards preferred.
