The University of Miami/UHealth is seeking a highly qualified individual for the role of Assistant Vice President, MSOM Administration. This position reports directly to the Dean and encompasses a broad range of executive responsibilities, including the formulation and execution of strategic initiatives pertaining to MSOM operations. As a senior executive liaison, the Assistant Vice President will play a crucial role in fostering collaboration among faculty and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Provide operational leadership to align with the missions and objectives of the Miller School of Medicine.

2. Oversee all administrative operations, including business management, human resources, information technology, and facility management.

3. Develop comprehensive financial strategies, including revenue forecasting and analysis across various funding sources.

4. Manage the annual operating budget, ensuring effective resource allocation across departments and programs.

5. Generate monthly operational reports, conduct variance analysis, and monitor actual performance against projections.

6. Direct the formulation of strategic forecasts and assess the financial implications of new initiatives.

7. Supervise MSOM budget operations, address complex operational challenges, and provide expert guidance to faculty and staff.

8. Collaborate with key stakeholders to resolve intricate operational issues and advance strategic priorities.

9. Lead the development and implementation of MSOM operational policies in conjunction with the Dean and senior leadership.

10. Act as the AAMC Principal Officer, managing official communications with the LCME and AAMC.

11. Exercise sound judgment and diplomacy while engaging with diverse groups to tackle complex challenges.

12. Assess and refine support services necessary for ongoing success and strategic growth, including workforce planning and team development.

13. Oversee MSOM capital projects and assist with annual events as directed by the Dean, fostering collaboration across various groups.

14. Monitor performance metrics in alignment with the strategic plan.

15. Ensure compliance with laws and regulations, safeguard assets, and uphold university policies and procedures, while maintaining operational efficiency.

Education:

Master's degree in a relevant field.

Experience:

A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, demonstrating a distinguished record of leadership and excellence in administration.

Knowledge, Skills, and Attitudes:
  • Strong understanding of business and management principles.
  • Ability to direct, manage, and evaluate departmental operations effectively.
  • Capability to establish departmental goals that align with the strategic vision.
