Job Overview:
As a Senior Heavy Equipment Mechanic, you will perform complex preventative maintenance tasks and troubleshoot a diverse range of equipment, including trucks and heavy machinery.

Key Responsibilities:
To excel in this role, you must effectively carry out each essential duty. Additional minor tasks may be assigned.


- Conduct repairs on various equipment, including bulldozers, scrapers, backhoes, front-end loaders, yard trucks, farm tractors, forklifts, and company vehicles.
- Diagnose and repair differentials, hydraulic systems, motors, transmissions, air conditioning systems, and electrical systems.
- Complete preventative maintenance checklists.
- Maintain accurate records such as work orders, card files, PM checklists, and oil samples.
- Service and maintain auxiliary equipment such as light plants, water pumps, welders, and more.
- Follow site-specific procedures and job descriptions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.


Supervisory Role:
No supervisory responsibilities are required.

Qualifications:
The qualifications listed below are representative of what is necessary to perform this job successfully.

Education:
Not required.

Experience:
Minimum of six (6) years of relevant work experience.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Legally eligible to work in the United States.

Ability to meet the physical demands of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.

Successful completion of pre-employment drug screening and physical examination is required.

Training Requirements:
- RCRA
- HAZWOPER (24 Hour)
- DOT & M2Z (Driver Only)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficient in operating tools, equipment, and procedures for vehicle and equipment repair and servicing.
- Ability to effectively communicate necessary repairs or tasks.
- Competence in diagnosing defects and repairing various equipment and vehicles.
- Familiarity with fleet maintenance software programs.
- Knowledge of Total Tire Maintenance Program may be required.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):
- Respirators (Full face OV/AG or half face with face shield)
- Appropriate barrier suits and gloves
- Safety glasses and hard hats
- Steel-toe shoes
