Job Title: Structural Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Structural Engineer to join our team at Dev2Work. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing structural engineering solutions for various projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop structural engineering plans and specifications for projects.
  • Prepare and review plans and specifications to ensure compliance with agency guidelines and regulations.
  • Provide project management for projects and oversee assigned projects to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, deadlines, and budgets.
  • Coordinate contract payments and resolve construction problems and design fixes in the field.
  • Direct technical staff in drafting, surveying, and inspection duties.
  • Prepare technical reports on engineering design decisions for assigned projects and activities.
  • Organize, participate, or lead preconstruction conferences with agencies of jurisdiction, contractors, service providers, and other interested parties.
  • Prepare and manage consultant agreements for various services.
  • Liaise with relevant professional staff such as architects and assist in responding to questions from contractors, public agencies, and officials, or general public regarding policies, procedures, and practices.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering and two (2) years of Professional Structural Engineer (SE) experience including relevant project design and construction management; or an equivalent combination of education, experience, certifications, and training in lieu of specifically required qualifications listed above.
  • Experience in performing engineering computations and in preparing engineering designs.
  • Experience sufficient to thoroughly understand the work of subordinate positions to be able to answer questions and resolve problems, usually associated with one to three years experience or service.
  • Experience with a computer-aided drafting program (such as AutoCAD).
  • Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's license issued by the State of Washington for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
  • Certification as a Professional Engineer or Engineer in Training or the ability to obtain Washington state registration within one year of hire and maintain throughout employment.
  • Must be able to pass a federal background check and work on public works projects.
