Job Summary:

The Network Support Engineer II is a critical role within our team, responsible for handling escalated tickets, monitoring equipment, and performing updates and configuration changes. This position requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for working tickets assigned to the Tier 2 Team for a wide variety of issues.
  • Assist Tier 1 team with questions via chat and taking escalations.
  • Maintain, implement and support customer network infrastructures including switches, routers, and firewalls.
  • Configure and manage VLANs, ACLs, routing protocols, VPNs, and other network technologies.
  • Perform configuration changes per customer or project requests.
  • Perform updates to equipment.
  • Monitoring network performance and security.
  • Assist with documenting procedures for both internal and external use.
  • Configure and test equipment for new and upgrade properties.
  • Testing of new solutions and/or products.

Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of networking fundamentals.
  • Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills as well as communication skills.
  • IP addresses, Subnetting, VLANs.
  • Knowledge in server administration, network security, data base management.
  • HP Switch CLI.
  • Cisco Switch CLI.
  • Wireless network fundamentals.
