Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team in Prince Frederick, Maryland. The ideal candidate will have experience working with students with disabilities and a strong understanding of occupational therapy principles.

About the Role

This is a contract position (one year) that requires immediate start. You will be working 35 hours per week, with a rate of $55/hour. Your primary responsibility will be to provide occupational therapy services to students with disabilities, including administering fine motor assessments and sensory processing profiles.

Responsibilities
  • Administer fine motor assessments and sensory processing profiles to students.
  • Write evaluation reports based on assessment results within given timelines.
  • Provide occupational therapy to students as prescribed by a student's IEP.
  • Provide consultation services to classroom teachers.
  • Observe students and provide screening information to IEP teams.
  • Attend IEP meetings.
  • Maintain data and provide quarterly progress reports.
  • Complete and submit monthly Medicaid billing forms and therapy documentation.
Requirements
  • A Maryland licensed Occupational Therapist.
  • Knowledge of physical disabilities and sensory processing deficits and appropriate therapy strategies.
  • Demonstrated diagnostic skills in the area of fine motor and physical development.
  • Knowledge of and ability to administer fine motor assessments.
  • Knowledge of and ability to administer sensory processing assessments.
  • Ability to write evaluation reports and Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Knowledge of the IEP/IFSP/504 Plan process and an understanding of the content of the required documents.
  • Knowledge of the Medicaid billing process.
  • Knowledge of educational and psychological assessments.
  • Knowledge of disabilities and accommodations/supports to access the general education curriculum.
  • Knowledge of and experience working with students diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
