Job Summary


As an Anesthesia Tech with Memorial Hermann Health System, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of patients undergoing surgical procedures.


Responsibilities



  • Assist anesthesiologists in preparing anesthesia machines and carts, and maintaining equipment and supplies.
  • Prepare and restock anesthesia medications, trays, and supplies, and transport equipment and supplies as needed.
  • Ensure clean and dirty sanitation and standard infection control precautions are followed.
  • Participate in Quality Assurance and documentation, and actively contribute to a culture of excellence and patient safety.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including patient hair removal, blood product and blood cooler transport, patient transport, and anesthetized patient positioning.
  • Assume a leadership role and demonstrate expertise in all aspects of the role.
  • Ensure safe care to patients, staff, and visitors, and adhere to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Promote individual professional growth and development, and support department-based goals.

Requirements



  • Graduate of an accredited school for anesthesia technology, or High School Diploma or GED with two years of current Operating Room experience.
  • Ability to recognize specialty needs and anticipate preparation and follow-up.
  • Ability to assist with endotracheal intubation and extubation procedures.
  • Knowledge of sterile technique, infection control precautions, and quality assurance principles.
