Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Anesthesia Technician to join our team at Houston Methodist. As an Anesthesia Technician, you will play a critical role in providing support to our anesthesia providers and other members of the interprofessional healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with anesthesia-related procedures, including setup, operation, and maintenance of anesthesia equipment.
  • Provide patient care and support in all anesthetizing locations, including operating rooms, catheterization laboratories, and intensive care units.
  • Clean and disinfect equipment and work areas between patients, following infection control standards and department procedures.
  • Organize workflow, problem-solve, and manage ongoing priorities with minimal supervision.
  • Report near misses and errors promptly into TAPS to improve processes and identify trends.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent education.
  • One year of hospital experience if not certified; no experience if certified through the American Society of Anesthesia Technologists & Technicians (ASATT).
  • BLS - Basic Life Support (AHA) certification.
  • ASATT - Certified Anesthesia Tech certification preferred.
