Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Social Worker to join our team at the U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants (USCRI). As a Social Worker, you will play a critical role in supporting the Home Study and Post Release Services department, providing culturally sensitive and linguistically appropriate clinical case management services to vulnerable populations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough needs assessments with unaccompanied children and sponsors, developing individualized case plans that address cultural, linguistic, and special circumstances.
  • Provide crisis intervention services, including brief clinical interventions and referrals to local resources.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records, adhering to USCRI and ORR policies and procedures.
  • Build and maintain relationships with local service providers, pro bono legal resources, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless support for clients.
  • Participate in regular training and communication sessions with supervisor and headquarters staff.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in social work, psychology, sociology, or related field, with at least three years of progressive experience and graduate-level licensure (LMSW/LGSW) preferred.
  • At least one year of direct clinical experience, with a focus on child welfare, child placements, family preservation, and behavioral health counseling.
  • Knowledge of trauma-responsive service provision, crisis intervention skills, and immigrant community resources.
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to prioritize duties in a fast-paced environment.
  • Fluency in Spanish and/or Haitian Creole required, with proficiency in additional languages a plus.
