About the Role

Amedisys is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team as a Home Health Registered Nurse. As a Home Health Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care in the comfort of their own homes.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and oversee all aspects of patients' home care, ensuring their needs are met and their health is improved.
  • Collaborate with patient care teams to develop and implement care plans that cater to each patient's unique needs.
  • Educate families on patient condition, needs, and care, empowering them to take an active role in their loved one's recovery.
  • Perform head-to-toe physical assessments, check vital signs, and manage medications to ensure patients receive the best possible care.
  • Administer and maintain catheters, give injections, IV therapy, or tube feedings as needed, and complete documentation timely and accurately.
  • Supervise Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and Home Health Aides (HHAs), providing guidance and support to ensure seamless care delivery.
  • Regularly communicate patient progress to the clinical manager, physician, and care team, ensuring everyone is informed and aligned.
Requirements
  • One year of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse (RN). If less than 1 year of clinical experience as a RN, candidate must be approved by the Vice President of Clinical Services.
  • Current RN license, specific to the state(s) you are assigned to work.
  • Minimum six months of home health experience.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and liability insurance.
  • Able to assess patient status and identify requirements relative to age-specific needs.
  • Familiarity with general computer use, including user names and password concepts, internet, email, navigation of computer desktop, and online HR services.
