The Water/Wastewater Facilities Project Manager will oversee and guide projects related to water and wastewater in the Chicago region. This role encompasses the planning, design, and preparation of documentation for water and wastewater infrastructure, which may include systems for water conveyance, sewage collection, pump stations, reservoirs, hydraulic structures, and treatment facilities.

YOUR PROFILE

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering or a related field with over 10 years of relevant experience or equivalent education and experience.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) registration and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.
  • Extensive project management experience leading multi-disciplinary design engineering teams for enhancements at large industrial, municipal, or water/wastewater facilities.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills: articulate, assertive, and confident.
  • Creative problem solver with effective teamwork abilities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage one or more moderately complex design projects, coordinating multiple engineering disciplines, consultants, and various agencies.
  • Oversee all phases of projects from initiation to completion.
  • Control project schedules and budgets.
  • Communicate project progress effectively with clients.
  • Facilitate and resolve project issues and scope changes with the design team and clients.
  • Work independently while receiving guidance on specific assignments and complex issues.
  • Provide technical guidance on unusual or complex problems and seek supervisory approval for project plans.
  • Conduct occasional fieldwork related to design and construction projects.
  • Supervise engineering and technical staff.
