Water/Sewer Project Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Water/Sewer Project Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will have the following responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct water distribution system analysis and design water main systems;
  • Analyze and design wastewater collection systems and sanitary sewer systems;
  • Develop pump station and lift station analysis and design;
  • Lead technical projects, reporting to the Project Manager, and manage other engineers and technicians to achieve project completion;
  • Design tasks include calculations/models, plan preparation, quantity calculations, construction details, specifications, cost estimates, and other related tasks;
  • Collaborate with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects;
  • Review and check engineering work completed by others;
  • Maintain positive client and vendor relationships;
  • Mentor staff engineers;
  • Report to our Vice-President of Water Resources.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering;
  • 6-15 years of water resources experience, including the activities described above;
  • Illinois and/or Indiana Professional Engineer (PE);
  • Strong technical skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work well in a team environment on multidisciplinary projects;
  • Microstation proficiency; AutoCad experience a plus;
  • Experience with water distribution system and wastewater collection system analysis and design;
  • Experience with pump and lift station design;
  • Experience with WaterCAD, SewerCAD, SWMM, and other hydraulic models.

This position can be based in one of our offices in Chicago, IL, Peoria, IL, Crown Point, IN, or Indianapolis, IN.
