Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Distribution Center Security Officer to join our team at Academy Sports + Outdoors. As a key member of our loss prevention team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our distribution center and its employees.

Responsibilities
  • Respond to fire and burglar alarms and take appropriate action to protect the facility and its assets.
  • Monitor and screen exiting distribution center associates to prevent potential security breaches.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to visitors and employees, ensuring a positive and secure experience.
  • Document and submit daily incident logs to maintain accurate records of security events.
  • Learn and maintain knowledge of basic operations, company policies, and procedures to effectively perform duties.
  • Communicate policy and procedure violations to loss prevention management to ensure compliance.
  • Tour the distribution center as assigned to maintain a visible loss prevention presence and identify potential security risks.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least one year of related work experience in a security or loss prevention role.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.
  • Physical ability to sit, stand, walk, and move throughout the distribution center as needed.
Working Conditions

This role requires the ability to work in a variety of conditions, including office, warehouse, and outdoor environments, during all seasons.
