Overview

This role is situated within the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and focuses on maintaining operational integrity across various facilities.

Position Responsibilities

The Maintenance Specialist will be responsible for a diverse range of tasks including but not limited to the following:
  • Conduct inspections of water systems and associated components to ensure compliance with health regulations.
  • Plan and execute preventive maintenance schedules based on operational needs and resource availability.
  • Utilize carpentry and welding tools to design, construct, and install various structures.
  • Interpret technical documents, including blueprints and schematics, to effectively complete assignments.
  • Operate and maintain warehouse vehicles and equipment for the movement of supplies.
  • Assess and determine the necessary tools and materials for repair and maintenance tasks.
Qualifications

Applicants should demonstrate relevant experience that showcases their ability to perform maintenance duties with minimal supervision. Acceptable experience includes:
  • Executing preventive maintenance and repairs on facilities and utilities.
  • Operating various vehicles and equipment for maintenance purposes.
  • Collaborating with team members to strategize maintenance efforts.
  • Preparing official correspondence related to maintenance operations.
Physical Requirements

This position demands significant physical exertion, including lifting heavy objects and operating machinery. Candidates should be prepared for various working conditions, including outdoor environments with exposure to varying temperatures and elements.

Work Environment

Most tasks will be performed in controlled indoor settings, with occasional outdoor assignments requiring appropriate safety measures.
