Job Summary:

The Electrical Inspector position is a critical role in promoting the general welfare of New Mexico residents by ensuring electrical construction projects meet code compliance standards. As an Electrical Inspector, you will conduct on-site inspections of electrical construction projects throughout the state, ensuring that electrical construction is completed within the requirements of the Construction Industries Licensing Act, its regulations, and electrical construction code.

Key Responsibilities:

* Conduct on-site inspections of electrical construction projects to ensure code compliance
* Research and familiarize yourself with current codes and regulations
* Communicate with inspectors, contractors, homeowners, and engineers to ensure properly permitted, licensed, and code-compliant construction
* Provide assistance in other inspection areas as needed

Requirements:

* Must be able to pass a background check and maintain a valid driver's license
* Must have extensive field experience in electrical construction and experience in electrical construction inspection
* Must possess a New Mexico Electrical Inspector Certification and National Commercial and Residential Inspector Certifications

Working Conditions:

The incumbent will move about construction job sites in all types of weather and conditions, climbing ladders, negotiating ditches and trenches, and avoiding hazards typically related to construction sites. The incumbent must lift up to 25 pounds and work using a personal computer for extended periods.
