Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Cardiovascular Technologist to join our team at Nuvance Health. As a key member of our cardiac catheterization lab, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our organization.
Responsibilities:
1. Assist hospital and medical staff in the performance of invasive cardiovascular procedures, including angioplasty, while maintaining a sterile environment.
2. Monitor patient hemodynamic status and ECG, collect and enter patient information, and generate reports at procedure completion.
3. Conduct pre-procedure interviews, obtain medical histories, review lab work, and educate patients and families on procedure details and risks.
4. Prepare the cath lab for invasive testing, calibrate equipment, and perform daily QA checks.
5. Position patients, connect monitoring devices, perform ECGs, and document patient medical records.
6. Assist cardiologists with arterial closure devices and sheath removal.
7. Provide technical support and troubleshooting for complex equipment and instruments.
8. Collect data for the ACC-NCDR and Connecticut Registry databases.
9. Participate in inventory management, quality improvement initiatives, and other duties as needed.
Requirements:
High School Diploma/GED required. Basic computer skills, EKG interpretation, and hemodynamic pressure tracing interpretation necessary. Experience in endovascular, interventional, and diagnostic procedures preferred. Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) certification a plus.
