Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Cardiovascular Technologist to join our team at Norwalk Hospital Association. As a key member of our cardiac catheterization lab, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the diagnosis and treatment of heart disease.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist hospital and medical staff in the performance of invasive cardiovascular procedures, including angioplasty, while maintaining sterile technique and patient safety.
  • Monitor patient hemodynamic status and ECG, collect and enter patient information, and generate reports at procedure completion.
  • Conduct pre-procedure interviews, obtain medical histories, review lab work, and educate patients and families on procedure details and risks.
  • Prepare the cath lab for invasive testing, calibrate equipment, and perform daily QA checks.
  • Position patients, connect monitoring devices, perform ECGs, and document patient medical records.
  • Assist cardiologists with arterial closure devices and sheath removal.
  • Act as a resource for staff members on complex technical equipment and supplies.
  • Collect data for the ACC-NCDR and Connecticut Registry databases.
  • Participate in other duties as needed, including inventory management, cath lab QI, and on-call scheduling.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Basic computer skills and competence in interpreting EKGs and hemodynamic pressure tracings.
  • Experience in endovascular, interventional, and diagnostic procedures.
  • Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) preferred.
