Licensed Practical Nurse

As a Licensed Practical Nurse at Geisinger ConvenientCare State College, you will provide primary clinical support to providers, patients, and their families to assist in diagnosis and treatment. You will follow up on diagnostic testing to ensure completion, accuracy, and filing in the medical record for continuity and quality of care. You will promote a clean environment and meet qualifications to provide care for patients in specific age ranges on your assigned clinical area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Obtain and document patient medical history, chief complaint, vital signs, and provide basic medical data for the provider, preparing patients for examinations.
- Provide direct clinical care as directed by the provider.
- Assist the provider in performing minor surgical diagnostic procedures and ancillary diagnostic examinations as directed to facilitate accurate diagnosis.
- Collect and prepare laboratory specimens and complete associated paperwork to expedite laboratory studies with maximum accuracy and efficiency.
- Execute and document ongoing patient communication, as directed by the provider, prioritizing communication to the provider, responding to patient questions and requests to ensure efficient use of provider time and timely response to patient needs.
- Administer medications and vaccines, including intradermal and skin testing, under the direction of a provider and per scope of practice.
- Clean and set up examination and treatment rooms between cases, ensuring required levels of asepsis, availability of appropriate instruments and equipment, and preparation of the patient.
Requirements:
Education: Graduate from Specialty Training Program-Nursing (Required)
Experience: Minimum of 1 year-Nursing (Preferred)
Certification(s) and License(s): Basic Life Support Certification - Default Issuing Body, Licensed Practical Nurse - Default Issuing Body
